Our Philosophy
why we do what we do
Welcome to Old Cotton Hill Farms. We firmly believe in regenerative agriculture and natural farming practices. We believe that as farmers it is our responsibility to not only maintain the land, but continuously improve it. We hold the health of our animals and our customers to the highest of priority, as we do not take lightly the stewardship role we have worked so hard to obtain. Through years of research, which remains ongoing, we have intentionally hand selected every piece of our operation to ensure we are providing the highest quality product to our customers, while also showing the most respect to the animals we are blessed to raise. From the breed to the feed, the growth model to the slaughter process, and beyond, we work tirelessly to ensure all aspects of our farming practices are humane, authentic, healthy, natural, and give back to the earth as much as we take.
We are seeing a major shift in agriculture within the United States, from conventional to more sustainable practices. This transition is a great thing, however, we believe it is important to question the motive of each farmer. We do not raise our animals in this manner because we feel there is an increased profit margin. We raise our animals using regenerative practices in order to honor the land, the animal, and the people we are serving. Our farming model is a direct copy of no other farm, as we have strategically designed our model based on our research and are continually working to improve this model based on evaluations of results. We take pride in not only being a farm which removes ourselves and our animals from harmful and unhealthy conventional and commercial practices, but also in being an advocate and source of information for health conscious citizens and those thirsting for knowledge; working to escape the “American Dream” we’ve been fed for so long.
Join up on this journey. Join the fight as we return to farming practices lost many moons ago. Practices created by our ancestors, not out of personal greed but out of respect for creation, and meant to supply nutrients and health rather than deplete it. This is Old Cotton Hill Farms. Welcome home!
